Subhash Ghai Declares, ‘All is Well Now’ on X Following Recent Health Concerns

Mumbai, Dec 8 (NationPress) The acclaimed filmmaker Subhash Ghai, who was recently admitted to Lilavati Hospital in the Bandra area of Mumbai on Saturday, has made a public announcement appreciating his followers for their support.

He stated, “All is well now”, explaining that the health scare was primarily due to his demanding schedule at the recently held 55th edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa.

During this festival, Ghai's memoir, ‘Karma's Child: The Story of Indian Cinema's Ultimate Showman’, was launched, and his musical film ‘Taal’ was also screened.

On Sunday, the filmmaker took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to express, “I feel so blessed to know that I’ve so many friends expressing their love and concern for my health after my hectic stint at IFFI Goa. ALL IS WELL NOW and see you soon. SMILE AGAIN. Thank you (sic)”.

Previously, the hospital had released a statement indicating that his medical history included Ischemic heart disease (s/p AVR 2009, CABG in 2011, and pacemaker insertion in 2011) as well as a newly diagnosed hypothyroidism. He was admitted to the ICU under the supervision of Dr. Rohit Deshpande.

Subhash Ghai began his career in Bollywood as an actor, performing minor roles in films such as ‘Taqdeer’ and ‘Aaradhna’. He later secured lead roles in productions like ‘Umang’ and ‘Gumrah’. However, his acting career did not flourish, prompting him to transition into directing.

He gained recognition for directing notable films including ‘Kalicharan’, ‘Vishwanath’, ‘Karz’, ‘Hero’, ‘Vidhaata’, ‘Meri Jung’, ‘Karma’, ‘Ram Lakhan’, ‘Saudagar’, ‘Khalnayak’, ‘Pardes’, and ‘Taal’.

In 2006, he was honored with the National Film Award for Best Film on Other Social Issues for producing the socially relevant film ‘Iqbal’. That same year, he established the Whistling Woods International film and media institute in Mumbai.

His most recent production was the comedy-drama streaming film ‘36 Farmhouse’, which premiered in 2022.
