Mumbai, June 30 (NationPress) Renowned filmmaker and producer Subhash Ghai, celebrated for his iconic movies like ‘Karz’, ‘Hero’, ‘Taal’, and ‘Ram Lakhan’, has officially unveiled the lead actor for his upcoming project.
On Monday, the legendary director took to Instagram to post a picture of Riteish Deshmukh, showcasing the actor in a cross-dressed appearance. In a playful tone, Ghai declared that he has secured the “heroine” for his next cinematic endeavor.
He captioned the image, “She is our next heroine in our forthcoming film under Mukta Arts. A classic beauty. Can you guess the name of this beautiful girl? Please do write (sic).”
The photo seems to be a throwback to the 2006 comedy ‘Apna Sapna Money Money’, featuring Riteish in the role of a conman who hilariously cross-dresses.
Additionally, Ghai praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his contributions, stating that Modi has not only set the nation on a developmental path but is also transforming the mindset of the populace towards holistic progress.
Reflecting on his past, the filmmaker reminisced about creating the film ‘Kanchi’ over a decade ago, a project that embodied his vision for a better India.
He remarked, “11 years ago I made a film called ‘Kanchi’. We wrote a song for the climax of that film, ‘Saare jahan se accha, wo Hindustan kahan hai?’. This raised the question, ‘Is this country better than the entire world?’. At that time, disappointment was prevalent. That’s why we composed the song.”
Ghai then noted the promise of change brought in by the Modi administration in 2014, sharing, “After that a new government came, and many opposed it, questioning, ‘Why pursue so much change?’. When Prime Minister Modi took office, I understood his vision. He doesn’t just seek the nation’s development; he aims to reshape the collective mindset and national character. This resonated deeply with me, prompting me to think, ‘Let’s wait and see’.”
He concluded by stating that the citizens have grown increasingly patriotic and are prepared to defend against any adversaries.
