This new division will concentrate on producing animation and gaming content.
In a celebratory post on social media, Ghai expressed his excitement, stating, "My Congratulations and blessings to everyone at Mukta Arts and Whistling Woods International on the announcement of our new division at MUKTA ARTS LTD called SGM STUDIOS, dedicated to producing animation and gaming at Mukta House Film City, Mumbai. Mukta Arts was established by Ghai on October 24, 1978, with its inaugural film being 'Karz', featuring Rishi Kapoor, Tina Munim (now Tina Ambani), and Simi Garewal.
Recently, Ghai shared his sorrow over the passing of veteran actor Asrani via social media. He reminisced about their time as classmates at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, in 1965.
On Instagram, Ghai shared a photo of Asrani, noting that the iconic actor-comedian was not only the top student in their batch but also a mentor to many.
With heartfelt emotions, Ghai wrote, “It’s heartbreaking to see my classmate ASRANI from our acting class at FTII Pune in 1965 depart from this world. He was the best student in our class and a teacher as well (sic)."
“He was a very serious professional who featured in drama and predominantly comedy across his 375 films. An impressive achievement indeed. My sincere prayers for the peace of his noble soul (sic),” the filmmaker concluded.
