Mumbai, July 3 (NationPress) Director-producer Suneel Darshan has shared insights about his film ‘Jaanwar’, discussing its varied reception across India compared to its performance in Mumbai.
In a recent conversation with IANS, the director revealed that while the film received negative reviews from entertainment journalists in Mumbai, it thrived in the rest of India, especially in regions like Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.
He stated, “I created that film, Mumbai didn’t appreciate it. However, not only India but the world embraced it. The film screened for 15-25 weeks in theatres in the villages of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. The journalists in Mumbai, who often write about our fate from their privileged positions, should understand that the true author of destiny is above all.”
Earlier this year, it was reported that Suneel Darshan is currently working on his upcoming film, ‘Andaaz 2’, which stars debutant actor Aayush Kumar.
Regarding his choice of Aayush for the role, Suneel explained, "I had written 'Andaaz 2' and completed the song recordings when my casting director presented male actors for supporting roles. Among them was this individual who I believed could be the perfect fit for the main character, Aarav. Trusting my instincts, I cast him, marking the inception of Aarav Kumar. It took some time for him to truly grasp the significance of this role. Preparation began, and Aayush commenced working on his physique and dance skills while engaging in script readings.”
“In 'Andaaz 2', Aayush plays Aarav, a passionate musician dealing with love, ambition, and personal challenges. The film promises a rich combination of romance, drama, and emotional resonance—qualities that are signatures of Suneel Darshan's work,” he added.
This film serves as a sequel to the hit movie ‘Andaaz’, carrying significant audience expectations.
