Patna, July 18 (NationPress) As the Bihar Assembly elections draw near, the trend of political leaders changing affiliations is gaining momentum. The Jan Suraj Party, led by Prashant Kishor, has just received a major boost.
On Friday, JP Singh, a former senior IPS officer, and Ritesh Pandey, a Bhojpuri film star and singer, officially joined the Jan Suraj Party in the presence of its leader, Prashant Kishor.
JP Singh, who previously served as the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) in Himachal Pradesh, recently opted for voluntary retirement (VRS) to transition into politics. His entry brings credibility and administrative expertise to the leadership of the party.
"I have been closely observing the Jan Suraj Party since its inception. The party is dedicated to the development of Bihar, and its leader, Prashant Kishor, possesses a visionary outlook,” Singh remarked.
Ritesh Pandey, a renowned figure in Bhojpuri cinema with a robust youth following across Bihar and Purvanchal, is expected to enhance the party's appeal among young voters and those with cultural ties to Bhojpuri.
“I resonate with Prashant Kishor’s ideology, which is why I decided to join the party,” Pandey expressed.
The addition of these two personalities will enhance the grassroots presence of the Jan Suraj Party.
Previously, YouTuber Manish Kashyap, who departed from the BJP, and former IPS Anand Mishra, who contested the Lok Sabha elections from Buxar, also joined the Jan Suraj Party, indicating a growing interest among youth, former officials, and influencers.
The Jan Suraj Party, established by electoral strategist Prashant Kishor, is preparing to contest all 243 Assembly seats in Bihar.
The party has received a ‘school bag’ as its election symbol from the Election Commission and is positioning itself as a viable alternative to the NDA and the Grand Alliance.
Prashant Kishor is dedicated to promoting the Jan Suraj Party as a credible grassroots alternative in Bihar, utilizing his political insight and outreach to develop a new narrative against traditional political factions.
“The Jan Suraj Party prioritizes individuals who have emerged from Bihar and achieved significant success through their own efforts. The two new members joining today exemplify this spirit of hard work,” Kishor stated.
As the elections approach, Prashant Kishor is ramping up organizational efforts to establish the Jan Suraj Party as a formidable contender in the upcoming 2025 Bihar Assembly elections.
