Mumbai, April 19 (NationPress) Actress Tamannaah Bhatia, currently garnering significant acclaim for her performance in the newly launched film ‘Odela 2’, has articulated that any evolution in cinema originates from individual efforts rather than collective movements.
In a recent interaction with IANS, she expressed that the initiative to rejuvenate cinema during challenging box-office phases relies on courageous choices made by individual artists, which will then inspire others to follow.
She stated to IANS, “I believe that the drive for change or influence in cinema will always stem from an individual; it’s never a group effort. As creative individuals, we must consistently strive to push boundaries within our capabilities. This is a perpetual endeavor. We should refrain from blaming audiences for not embracing what’s presented. Instead, we should take ownership of our responsibility to create films that resonate with viewers and provide entertainment.”
The actress also discussed ‘Odela 2’, revealing that this sequel radically alters the genre.
She noted, “The initial installment of ‘Odela’ was released on OTT platforms during the Covid-19 pandemic and was classified as a crime thriller. ‘Odela 2’ has genuinely transformed the genre. As Sampath Nandi (the film’s writer) mentioned, the first part concluded in a manner that felt like a fresh beginning, necessitating a restart. To achieve this, a genre shift was essential, and I believe it has significantly enhanced our storytelling.”
“Without detracting from the original, we have layered the narrative further. I feel we are in an era where audiences crave diverse genres within a single film. I believe this is vital for maintaining viewer engagement,” she added.
