Chennai, April 21 (NationPress) Sampath Nandi, the mastermind behind the beloved ‘Odela’ series, has revealed that the second chapter featuring actress Tamannaah Bhatia in the lead role had already broken even prior to its official release.
During the success celebration of 'Odela 2', Nandi shared, “The journey of creating this film commenced a year and a half ago. Everything that unfolded from that point has taken shape organically.”
Nandi also mentioned that the film's budget was different from what many had speculated.
“Many are wondering when this film will turn a profit. I can confidently say this film has broken even before its release, thanks to divine favor. We view every penny we receive from our audience as a blessing from the Almighty. This film is already on its path to success,” he stated.
Nandi emphasized that one of the key factors contributing to the film's success is its stunning visuals, which have received considerable acclaim from viewers. He particularly lauded the CG segments for their exceptional quality and expressed gratitude to the Prasad Labs CG team for their remarkable work at a minimal cost. “They have achieved outstanding CG on a very tight budget. My heartfelt thanks to them,” he added.
Released on April 17, this year, the film generated significant anticipation as it marks the second installment of the 'Odela' series, following the first installment titled ‘Odela Railway Station’.
Produced by D Madhu and directed by Ashok Teja, the film features music by Ajaneesh Loknath and cinematography by Soundar Rajan, with art direction by Rajeev Nair.
The narrative explores the theme of the divine confronting dark forces.
One aspect that has piqued the interest of fans and cinephiles is that Tamannaah, after two decades in the industry, portrays a Naga Sadhu for the first time.
