Chennai, March 22 (NationPress) Sampath Nandi, the visionary behind the acclaimed Odela franchise, has revealed that the much-anticipated supernatural thriller, ‘Odela 2’, directed by Ashok Teja and starring Tamannaah Bhatia, will pick up right where the first film left off.
On the day of the announcement regarding the film's release on April 17, the production team held a press gathering.
During this event, Sampath Nandi expressed, “For some, Odela is merely a movie. To me, it embodies an emotion. I grew up there and studied until the ninth grade.”
He elaborated on the film's narrative, stating, “Everyone's hometown is like a mother. Thus, when crafting a film about your mother, it's done with utmost respect and love. We've approached this film with that very sentiment. If the village represents the mother, then the temple and the deity residing there symbolize the father. Specifically, if we view Odela as a mother, then the temple of Odella Mallana functions as the father. The core of this film revolves around this concept.”
He continued, “The village of Odela encounters a significant issue that escalates. The deity, Mallana, who has a temple in Odela, intervenes to assist the village. The story follows how he resolves the crisis through a Sadhu named Bhairavi, who possesses Nagashakthi, a manifestation of Shiva Shakti.”
Earlier this past Saturday, the Sampath Nandi Teamworks shared on social media that the film would debut on April 17. “When darkness prevails and hope diminishes, 'Shiva Shakti' stirs. #Odela2 will have its grand premiere globally on April 17th. Prepare for a divine thriller on the silver screen. #Odela2OnApril17”
The film has generated immense anticipation as it marks the second chapter in the Odela series, following the first release titled ‘Odela Railway Station’. This franchise, devised by Sampath Nandi, features Tamannah Bhatia in the leading role. Produced by D Madhu under the direction of Ashok Teja, the movie boasts music by Ajaneesh Loknath and cinematography by Soundar Rajan. The film's art direction is led by Rajeev Nair.
