Chennai, Jan 14 (NationPress) It’s now confirmed! Director Nelson is set to helm the highly anticipated action-packed film ‘Jailer 2’, starring the one and only Superstar Rajinikanth in the main role.
The production company, Sun Pictures, unveiled a teaser on the significant festival day of Pongal, officially announcing the project.
In their teaser release, the production house stated, "Sun Pictures proudly presents #Jailer2 featuring Superstar @rajinikanth. Alapparai Kelappurom, Thalaivar Nerandharam"
Like the first installment, Jailer 2 will see Anirudh composing music and Nelson in the director's chair.
The teaser begins with a radio announcement about a cyclone approaching the coast, while Anirudh and Nelson engage in a humorous exchange in Goa, where they claim to be discussing story ideas.
The duo appears to be brainstorming for Nelson’s next cinematic venture.
As their comical dialogue unfolds, the scene shifts to intense action, with unsuspecting individuals entering their room only to be shot or stabbed.
While both the director and music composer try to take cover, a blurry figure of Rajinikanth is seen entering, seemingly in pursuit of any remaining survivors.
When Rajinikanth exits the room, a grenade is thrown inside. Outside, he confronts formidable adversaries. Anirudh then exclaims to Nelson, “This looks terrifying, Nelsa! Let’s turn this into a film!”
Jailer 2 is expected to deliver an abundance of action, similar to its predecessor, which was a significant success, grossing an impressive 650 crores globally.
The first Jailer film received favorable reviews and made a strong debut. In fact, its overseas distributor Ayngaran International reported that the film earned an astonishing 33 crores on its opening day, marking the highest in Superstar Rajinikanth’s career!
