In a post on his X timeline, the young musical prodigy shared, "Happy World Music Day! Celebrating music with a glimpse into one of the most meaningful projects of my life 'THE THIRUKKURAL 1330 – Musical Ethos', Chapter 1 - India. Releasing September 6, 2025. Venue, release format, and full details will be announced soon. More updates on the way!"
He elaborated, "This project showcases over 1000 voices from diverse genres worldwide, along with some innovative musical styles developed throughout the process — all harmoniously combined to convey the timeless words of Thiruvalluvar, along with their interpretations."
The Thirukkuṟaḷ, a revered Tamil text comprising 1,330 short couplets known as Kurals, is celebrated as one of the greatest literary works globally. Each Kural consists of seven words, with teachings that encompass virtues, wealth, and love, recognized for their universal and secular essence. Lydian's musical interpretation of this classic is highly anticipated.
It is noteworthy that Lydian is the sole student of legendary music composer Ilaiyaraaja, who recently made history by being the first Indian to present a western classical symphony at the Eventim Apollo theatre in London last March.
Originating from Chennai, Lydian was only 17 when he competed in The World's Best on CBS in 2019, winning a grand prize of one million dollars.
This multi-talented musician can skillfully play 14 instruments, including the drums, tabla, and guitar, and is renowned for his exceptional piano abilities.
