Chennai, Oct 17 (NationPress) The Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and renowned actor-producer Udhayanidhi Stalin has described director Mari Selvaraj’s anticipated sports drama 'Bison - Kaalamaadan', starring Dhruv Vikram and Anupama Parameswaran, as “a powerful film”.

After screening the film prior to its release, Udhayanidhi shared his impressions on X, stating, “Have watched #Bison. Director @Mari_Selvaraj sir has once again delivered a powerful film.”

He elaborated, saying, “Bison is a heartwarming sports drama about an Arjuna award-winning Kabaddi player who rises above a violent and troubled society. Mari sir captures the journey of a young man who places his faith in sport above all, leading him to greatness.”

'Bison' is set to release in theaters on Friday. The film is produced by Applause Entertainment in partnership with Pa Ranjith's Neelam Studios. Dhruv Vikram portrays a kabaddi player alongside Anupama Parameswaran, and the film is inspired by real events, depicting a compelling saga of passion, resilience, and triumph against adversity.

Dhruv Vikram, who invested considerable effort into his role, shared an emotional post on Instagram upon wrapping up filming. He remarked, “After years of preparation, several months of filming, shedding blood, sweat, and tears, it’s finally a wrap on 'BISON'. The film also features Anupama Parameswaran as the female lead, alongside actors Lal, Pasupathy, Rajisha Vijayan, Hari Krishnan, Azhagam Perumal, Aruvi Madhanand, and Kalaiyarasan in significant roles.

'Bison', short for 'Bison Kaalamaadan', showcases cinematography by Ezhil Arasu K, and the editing is handled by Sakthi Thiru. The film is co-produced by Sameer Nair, Deepak Saigal, director Pa Ranjith, and Aditi Anand.
