Chennai, April 5 (NationPress) The producers of the highly anticipated Malayalam action film, 'Pallichattambi', directed by Dijo Jose Antony and starring Tovino Thomas, unveiled an exhilarating trailer on Sunday, thrilling fans and cinema enthusiasts alike.

Actor Tovino Thomas shared the trailer on his X account, announcing, "The long-awaited Pallichattambi Official Trailer is now live! Catch it in theaters globally starting April 10, 2026. A film by Dijo Jose Antony."

The newly released trailer opens with a voiceover declaring, "He will come to turn that ground to ashes. He will come to sever the ties of this nation and discard them. The true ruler of this land (will arrive)!"

Next, a villager states, "We must soon seek out a clever warrior—regardless of where he is and the cost—and grant him the title 'Christopher.'"

In response, another villager asks, "But how do we find such an individual?"

It is at this juncture that Tovino Thomas's character is introduced. Following this, we catch a glimpse of his romantic moments with Kayadu Lohar, who tells him, "You seem to have enchanted my entire village."

In a conversation with an older villager, Tovino's character states, "Only the village differs. The people and the soil are the same everywhere." The trailer also presents a brutal police officer, showcasing Tovino's character training the villagers in martial arts.

Unquestionably, the trailer has heightened the anticipation among fans.

It is worth noting that Tovino Thomas, in an exclusive interview with IANS, first revealed the fundamental plot of this highly awaited period action film.

He mentioned, "I can tell you that the film is set in 1957-58—a period when the socio-political landscape in Kerala was vastly different. New reforms emerged, and there were resistances against them. So, that's the backdrop, not the story itself. Within this premise, a fictional narrative unfolds."

Emphasizing that they drew inspiration from actual events of that era, Tovino Thomas clarified that the film does not directly depict historical occurrences.

"We aimed to make our fiction as credible as possible, and the inspiration from real-life events during that period significantly contributed to it," he explained.

Elaborating on his role, the actor shared, "My character arrives from a different place to the village where the story takes place, coming as a Palli Chettambi. 'Palli' means church, while 'Chettambi' refers to someone who comes to safeguard the church. The narrative explores what transpires in this village after his arrival and how he navigates life. The only political message we wish to convey through this film is that of humanity."

For those unaware, this eagerly awaited period film, directed by Dijo Jose Antony, also stars Kayadu Lohar alongside Tovino Thomas and is set to hit theaters on April 10 this year.
