Mumbai, March 10 (NationPress) Renowned playback singer Udit Narayan, who recently made headlines due to a viral video featuring him kissing a female fan, humorously poked fun at himself during an event in the city on Monday.
The occasion marked the trailer launch of the movie ‘Pintu Ki Pappi’, which also saw the presence of choreographer Ganesh Acharya.
While speaking to reporters, the singer remarked, “I want to extend my congratulations to Ganesh ji. What a fantastic title he has chosen. Honestly, you might want to reconsider the title. While ‘Pappi’ is acceptable, how about ‘Pintu Ki Puppy’? I hope it’s not ‘Udit Ki Pappi’.”
He went on to say, “It’s quite a coincidence that this is launching now. Just so you know, that video of mine is from 2 years ago, back in Australia. I want to congratulate everyone involved. The music is outstanding, and the writing is superb. The songs that you had me sing and record have received much acclaim. Truly commendable.”
Last month, Udit Narayan sparked a controversy after an undated clip of him kissing a female fan on the lips while taking a selfie during a performance went viral across social media platforms. In the clip, Udit was seen performing the iconic song ‘Tip Tip Barsa Paani’, originally picturized on Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon from ‘Mohra’, when a female fan suddenly turned and kissed him on the cheek.
The singer then reciprocated by kissing her on the lips, as shown in the viral footage from the event that has since gained widespread attention.
Although Udit Narayan, who is the father of singer Aditya Narayan, refrained from commenting further, social media users expressed their indignation.
