Chennai, Mar 17 (NationPress) Actress Vedhika, renowned in the south Indian film industry for her impressive performances, has written a touching message about how she fulfilled her dream of bringing her dog, a Rottweiler, to Kashmir to experience the snow.
In a post on her Instagram, Vedhika expressed, “Nothing was going to deter me from making this dream a reality @oscarkumar_rottweilier.”
She emphasized the importance of meticulous planning, patience, and the unwavering support of her “little circle of strength,” along with her two assistants who accompanied her and her dog. Vedhika shared how she successfully achieved her dream.
“I brought my Oscar to witness the snow, traveling from Bangalore all the way to Kashmir. Despite my OCD and various challenges, we overcame every obstacle. It was twelve days filled with joy and resilience,” she noted.
“Larger dogs are currently not permitted on flights — and I genuinely hope this changes soon for all pet owners wishing to travel with their furry companions in the cabin. Until then, I am incredibly thankful to Indian Railways, which provided us with a wonderful journey — a first-class coupe and cabin where Oscar and I could enjoy watching the world go by. It was all worth it. We made it, and my heart is so full,” she expressed.
The actress acknowledged the many inspiring influencers whose content motivated her to take this bold step!
“I encourage you to make that leap too if you’ve been dreaming of traveling with your furry friends. Here’s to more furry adventures to come! #TravelWithPets #IndianRailways #dogsofinstagram #Dogs #rottweiler #love,” she added.
Following this, Vedhika outlined several steps for pet lovers who might wish to replicate her journey.
“For anyone interested in doing the same — book your tickets in first class, select a 2-person coupe or a 4-person cabin, and submit a letter to the Divisional Manager of the Railway station 24 hours prior to your trip detailing your travel plans and requesting a coupe or cabin for your pet (I hope this process can be made available online soon). You may book your pet’s ticket under ‘Trains’ on irctc.co.in, four hours before your journey. Don’t forget to bring your pet's vaccination and fit-to-travel certificate with you,” she advised.
In a final note, Vedhika added, “P.S. I almost canceled my trip, concerned about how he’d manage with only five-minute breaks every few hours for bathroom stops and the possibility of missing the train. But I’m grateful we didn’t cancel — it was manageable in three to four minutes, and with four of us helping, everything worked out beautifully.”
