Mumbai, Sep 15 (NationPress) Actress Radhika Vidyasagar reminisced about a pivotal moment in her early career when she encountered veteran actor Sudhir Joshi, which eventually led her to Boman Irani.
The actress, who was just embarking on her journey with her debut television series Ek Dhaga Asa Sukha Cha, fondly recalled, “We were eager and youthful, around 20–23 years old, and spent every moment together. Our bond extended beyond the show; it became an emotional experience. When the series concluded after a year, we were all in tears as if we were parting from family.”
The show featured Sudhir Joshi, who noticed Radhika’s talent and encouraged her to pursue a professional photoshoot.
She shared, “Sudhir Kaka was working on I Am Not Bajirao alongside Boman Irani, and one day he casually suggested, ‘If you’re interested in a photoshoot, I’ll mention it to Boman.’ I was in awe; a photoshoot with Boman Irani seemed so grand, so cinematic.”
“Coming from Pune with just a modest theatre background, I found it hard to believe.”
At that time, Boman Irani was recognized as a prominent photographer and ran an advertising agency.
“I visited his office, where he took care of everything, including the makeup artist, hairstylist, and studio lighting. It was my first glamorous shoot with both Indian and Western styles. The photos were stunning! I was left speechless,” she expressed.
Radhika considers herself fortunate to have also been photographed earlier by Amalendu Chaudhary, now a renowned cinematographer.
“Those earlier pictures were natural and distinct from the glamorous ones Boman captured. I feel incredibly lucky that both these talented individuals documented my beginnings in the industry.”
Radhika Vidyasagar is acclaimed for her roles in shows such as Udne Ki Aasha, Tuza Maza Breakup, and Munjya.
