Mumbai, May 29 (NationPress) Actor Vinay Pathak, who is preparing for the premiere of his new film 'Chidiya', has disclosed that 'Khosla Ka Ghosla' was, in fact, Boman Irani's debut in Hindi cinema.
However, the release of 'Khosla Ka Ghosla' faced delays due to distribution challenges. Vinay mentioned that the film was 'in the box' for three years, and it was 'Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.' that ultimately marked Boman's entry into Hindi films.
In conversation with IANS ahead of the film's release, Vinay reminisced about his time working on 'Khosla Ka Ghosla'.
He stated, 'The fondest memory of 'Khosla Ka Ghosla' is collaborating with friends, which is always my takeaway from any project I undertake. Ranvir Shorey was part of the cast, I was there, and then Boman Irani joined us. It was Boman's inaugural film, as 'Khosla Ka Ghosla' was in limbo for three years, and during that time, Boman appeared in 'Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.', gaining immense popularity due to his remarkable performance.'
Interestingly, both 'Khosla Ka Ghosla' and 'Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.' were significant hits and were directed by debut directors. While 'Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.' was directed by the renowned Rajkumar Hirani, 'Khosla Ka Ghosla' was directed by the acclaimed Dibakar Banerjee, celebrated for his groundbreaking films. Both movies won National Film Awards, and in both, Boman played an antagonist.
Boman was initially slated to debut in Aditya Chopra's 'Mohabbatein', but the role was ultimately assigned to legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan after he requested the late producer Yash Chopra to give him a part due to financial struggles following the collapse of AB Corp.
Meanwhile, 'Chidiya', directed by Mehran Amrohi, is set to hit theaters on May 30.
