Chennai, April 28 (NationPress) In an effort to clarify his previous remarks regarding the shocking assault on tourists by terrorists in Pahalgam, music director, actor, and producer Vijay Antony stated on Monday that the horrific massacre in Kashmir was perpetrated by a vile group of terrorists whose sole objective was to dismantle the strong bond of unity among Indians. He emphasized that both the Indian government and its citizens stand resolute in safeguarding our sovereignty with unwavering strength.

It is important to note that the actor had earlier expressed his condolences on social media to the families of the victims who tragically lost their lives in the brutal terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam. He conveyed, "My heartfelt condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in Kashmir. This is a painful moment for all of us as Indians. Concurrently, we must not forget the 50 lakh Indians residing in Pakistan, who, alongside Pakistanis like us, yearn for peace and happiness. Let us choose love and humanity over hatred."

However, shortly after sharing this sentiment, Vijay faced significant backlash online, with many challenging his assertion regarding the presence of 50 lakh Indians in Pakistan.

In response to this, the actor released a clarification titled, 'For those who have misunderstood my message.'

In his clarification posted on his X timeline, Vijay Antony stated, "The brutal massacre in Kashmir was committed by a monstrous group of terrorists whose only goal is to break the strong bond of our unity. The Government of India and we, as Indians, will protect our sovereignty with a strong hand."
