Another remarked, “So THE BOYFRIEND will introduce THE GIRLFRIEND?”.

A third user noted, “Why is it so closely tied to their personal lives?”.

Prior to this, Rashmika, who starred in the recent hit Pushpa 2: The Rule, celebrated the “very special” December month, marking the first anniversary of her film Animal.

She shared a video on her Instagram Stories, re-sharing a fan-made Reel showcasing her character Geethanjali from the Ranbir Kapoor film Animal.

She expressed her gratitude in the video, stating, “December has indeed been very very special to me. So grateful. Swami swami swami. Thank you, thank you, thank you”.

Animal, featuring Ranbir in the lead role, narrates the intense relationship between a father and son. This multi-starrer, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga of Kabir Singh fame, became a blockbuster while also facing criticism for its portrayal of women. The film garnered significant attention and overshadowed Sam Bahadur, a biopic about Indian war hero Sam Manekshaw.

Before that, Pushpa: The Rise, which marked Rashmika’s rise to fame across the country, was also released in December. The film, which debuted amidst the peak of the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, achieved remarkable box office success despite theater closures across India.
