Mumbai, February 27 (NationPress) Producer Vipul Shah has expressed his views following the Kerala High Court's approval for the release of his film ‘The Kerala Story 2 – Goes Beyond’. In a media interaction on Friday, he welcomed the court's ruling and noted that an eight-member committee had scrutinized the film prior to its clearance.
During a press briefing held in Mumbai, Shah elaborated on the court's deliberations, stating, “With the High Court's decision, there's no need for further discourse. The esteemed judges found no flaws in the operations of the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification).”
Shah clarified, “Typically, a film's censor review is conducted by a five-member panel, but for this project, we had eight members, including two social workers from Kerala, ensuring there was no distortion regarding the state's representation.”
He also addressed remarks made by renowned filmmaker Anurag Kashyap about his film, mentioning that he is awaiting Kashyap's response, especially after a social media user challenged him.
Shah commented, “I refrain from making personal remarks about Anurag; he is entitled to his opinion. My audience resonates with a significant topic. Anurag's reply is still pending.”
He added, “Anurag created a film titled ‘That Girl in Yellow Boots’, exploring a father-daughter romantic relationship. Should we regard his opinions seriously, considering that context? This question was posed by Kamakhya. I anticipated Anurag would respond candidly. His reply may emerge soon. Personally, I don't take anyone's opinions too seriously,” he concluded.
