Did Vipul Amrutlal Shah's Films Like 'The Kerala Story' Impact His Industry Relationships?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, Feb 22 (NationPress) Renowned filmmaker Vipul Amrutlal Shah, known for his works including 'The Kerala Story' and 'The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond', has addressed whether his film themes have had any bearing on his connections within Bollywood, a space recognized for its interfaith unions.
In response, the director expressed confidence that the individuals in Bollywood possess the discernment to understand the messages conveyed through their upcoming project, 'The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond'.
In an exclusive dialogue with IANS, Vipul stated that their films do not target any specific religion; rather, they aim to shed light on instances where women find themselves ensnared in marriages with ulterior motives.
When questioned, "Sir, considering your background in the film industry, where interfaith marriages are prevalent, do your films impact your relationships here?" he replied, "First and foremost, neither our film nor I am opposed to any religion or community. Our stance is against wrongdoing. The marriages occurring within our industry or society are beyond our purview. We focus solely on cases involving women trapped for nefarious reasons, where their lives are manipulated."
He elaborated, "In this film, we've uncovered documentation that indicates a price list for girls. If a Muslim man marries a girl from any caste, a particular sum is exchanged. We oppose this practice. We aim to expose such crimes, not comment on any other marriages or relationships."
Vipul noted that those in the entertainment realm are exceptionally perceptive and aware of the crimes their film intends to reveal through 'The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond'.
"By highlighting this crime, we are not passing judgment on marriages or relationships. Everyone comprehends this, and our relationships remain unaffected," he concluded.
