Mumbai, Dec 29 (NationPress) For actor Vishal Jethwa, the transition into a new year has consistently emphasized simplicity, family, and togetherness, steering clear of extravagant celebrations or grandiose parties.

As he prepares for the New Year, Vishal shared his sentiments about starting the year surrounded by family, which he finds profoundly significant.

Vishal stated to IANS: "I’ve always marked New Year’s with my family, and being together as the year begins holds a special place in my heart. It’s a reminder of our unity, welcoming each year side by side. I’m not one for large, extravagant parties; I favor quieter celebrations with family, whether at home or out together."

This year, however, brings a poignant change. For the first time, Vishal will greet the New Year without his mother, as she is currently enjoying her time in London.

“This year is different because my mother is away in London. It was my dream to take her there, and during the promotions of Homebound in London, I finally got to fulfill that dream.”

“She has been there for over 25–30 days, experiencing some of the happiest moments of her life and relishing her holiday.”

The actor expressed that taking his mother to London had long been a cherished aspiration.

He concluded: “Seeing her fulfill this dream has been incredibly rewarding for me. Yet, I feel her absence deeply, as this will be the first New Year I will celebrate without her alongside me.”

Vishal’s film “Homebound”, directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Neeraj Ghaywan, has been nominated for the upcoming Oscar awards.

“Homebound” is set to compete in the 'Best International Feature Film' category against films from countries including Argentina, Brazil, France, Germany, Iraq, Japan, Jordan, Norway, Palestine, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, and Tunisia.
