Reflecting on the encounter, Vishal shared with IANS: “When we learned that we would be meeting the legend himself - Martin Scorsese sir, we realized it was going to be a career highlight for us. Receiving so many pivotal moments in my career through one film is genuinely special and surreal for me.”
He expressed disbelief at how much “Homebound” has contributed to his journey.
“And the international acclaim it has received. On the day we finally met him, we were a bit anxious. But when we encountered him - his personality was notably calm and quiet. He was sharing jokes, recounting stories about his films, and his life,” the actor recounted.
Vishal reminisced about capturing a picture with Scorsese, stating: “I had a strong urge to take a photo to commemorate that moment with him, and I finally got the picture where I asked him to do Namaste, and he graciously agreed. It was incredibly thrilling to be in his presence and to know that he saw, appreciated, and liked my work.”
The meeting took place during a special screening of “Homebound” organized for Scorsese, who is also one of the film's executive producers.
Expressing his feelings on social media, Vishal had previously remarked: “The living legend himself, Martin Scorsese — greeting me with a Namaste! I still can’t believe this picture is real. What an unforgettable day! I’ll cherish this moment forever — the nervous anticipation before meeting Sir, the precious time spent together, and the immense joy of knowing he not only viewed our film but also appreciated our efforts. I feel like I’m living every actor’s dream.”
