Mumbai, Jan 9 (NationPress) – As Farah Khan celebrated her 61st birthday on Friday, actor Vivaan Shah commemorated the occasion with a nostalgic throwback from her 2014 film Happy New Year. He affectionately referred to the filmmaker-choreographer as his “Bob Fosse” and “Moliere”.
Vivaan shared the moment on Instagram, showcasing a still from the filming of Happy New Year. The image featured him alongside renowned actors Shah Rukh Khan, Farah Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, and Sonu Sood.
“Happyy Happyy Happiest Birthdayyy @farahkhankunder! Our Bob Fosse and our Molière as well! A visionary, humorist, satirist, cinema scholar, and one of the kindest, warmest, and most entertaining individuals on the planet! You’re a rockstar! Love you lots, Ma’m,” Vivaan expressed.
Happy New Year is an action-comedy film that also features Deepika Padukone and Jackie Shroff. Although its inception was in 2005, the film faced delays and was shelved for reasons unknown, allowing Farah Khan to direct Om Shanti Om and Tees Maar Khan.
In the storyline, Charlie assembles a group of non-dancers to participate in a dance competition at a hotel in Dubai, all while plotting a diamond heist. Interestingly, the script of this film is preserved in the library of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Vivaan, the son of Naseeruddin Shah and Ratna Pathak, made his film debut in Saat Khoon Maaf in 2011. He later signed a three-film agreement with director Vishal Bhardwaj. Recently, he was featured in Ikkis, directed by Sriram Raghavan.
This film also stars Jaideep Ahlawat and Simar Bhatia and is based on the life of Arun Khetarpal, the youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra award, and revolves around the historic Battle of Basantar during the 1971 India–Pakistan War. The film's title pays homage to the age at which Arun Khetarpal achieved martyrdom.
