Mumbai, Oct 24 (NationPress) As “Happy New Year” marks its 11th anniversary in the realm of Hindi cinema, the esteemed actor Jackie Shroff, who portrayed the villainous role in this Shah Rukh Khan blockbuster, took time to reflect on this milestone.

Jackie shared a memorable scene from the film on his Instagram Stories, showcasing Shah Rukh Khan, Sonu Sood, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, and others, accompanied by the beloved track “India Waale.”

In his caption, he simply expressed: “#11yearsofhappynewyear.”

Released in 2014, Happy New Year is a comedy-action film directed by Farah Khan. The movie features a star-studded cast including Deepika Padukone, Shah Rukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonu Sood, Boman Irani, Vivaan Shah, and Jackie Shroff.

Originally conceived in 2005, the film faced delays before Farah Khan went on to direct Om Shanti Om and Tees Maar Khan. The plot revolves around Charlie, who gathers a group of inexperienced dancers to compete in a dance contest at a Dubai hotel, all while planning a diamond heist.

Post-release, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences included the film's script in their archive.

On the horizon, Jackie is set to star in the forthcoming comedy film “Welcome To The Jungle”, directed by Ahmed Khan.

This dramatic tale showcases Jackie as Ram, alongside Poonam as Bijli, Raj Kiran as Gopi, and others. The story unfolds in a distant village where residents suffer under the oppressive Thakur Vijay Singh until Ram, the honest newcomer, stands up to him. When Ram aids a couple in eloping, Thakur Vijay Singh seeks violent retribution.
