Mumbai, Aug 12 (NationPress) Punjabi artist Wazir Patar, renowned for shaping some of the most iconic sounds in Punjabi music, has unveiled his debut EP and mini-documentary titled ‘WZR TANK’.
Wazir has collaborated with the late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala on numerous tracks, including ‘The Last Ride’, and has also crafted the soundtrack for the Netflix series ‘Kohrra’. His unique style merges traditional folk with contemporary beats, and he produced ‘The Last Ride’, which became Sidhu Moosewala's final recording before his untimely death. This track solidified Wazir’s status as a master of Punjab's evolving musical landscape.
Reflecting on his music creation process, he stated, “In music, I extract fragments from the past, sounds deeply rooted in my culture, and blend them into something innovative while ensuring they retain their essence.”
With ‘WZR TANK’, Wazir combines music with a compelling visual narrative. The project chronicles the year-long restoration of a 1990 Mercedes W124 E300 Turbo Diesel, meticulously rebuilt with parts sourced worldwide. This vehicle is emblematic of his creative journey, embodying the preservation of heritage while forging something original.
“This car had a spirit. I simply had to restore it. We invested everything into our dreams, passion, and cars, pioneering a trend in East Punjab that had never been executed with such precision before,” he added.
The tracks on the EP reflect his personal journey. WZR TANK signifies the essence of setting your own trends, self-governance, and resisting outside influences. AMG celebrates the might and presence of the vehicle.
For Wazir, ‘WZR TANK’ serves as a creative expression and a testament that Punjab can spearhead global trends. “It’s about proving to the world that our vision can rival anyone’s in music, style, and culture,” he remarked.
The ‘WZR TANK’ EP is now available on streaming platforms, with the documentary set to follow shortly.
