Zendaya Discusses the Importance of Friendship in Marriage
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Los Angeles, March 26 (NationPress) Hollywood star Zendaya, preparing for the upcoming release of her film 'The Drama', expresses her belief in the friends-to-lovers concept.
In a recent interview with the French publication Views, the 29-year-old actress shared her perspective on what constitutes a "ideal marriage," according to People magazine. She remarked, "I don’t know if there’s such a thing as a perfect marriage, but I think it’s about people who, I know this sounds cheesy, are like best friends (sic)."
She further added, "It’s always heartwarming to see two individuals who genuinely like and love each other."
These insights come shortly after swirling rumors regarding her and Tom Holland tying the knot. On March 1, her stylist, Law Roach, suggested during the 2026 Actor Awards that the couple had secretly married.
Roach reaffirmed this claim at the 2026 Oscars on March 15, stating to Extra, "I said what I said."
Throughout the month, Zendaya has sparked further marriage speculation by sporting what appears to be a wedding band. Notably, both Zendaya and Holland have referred to each other as best friends over time. Following the release of 'Spider-Man: Homecoming', where Zendaya plays MJ and Holland portrays Spider-Man, she dismissed dating rumors, asserting in an August 2017 interview with Variety, "We are friends. He’s a great guy and one of my closest friends."
Earlier, Holland expressed that his co-stars Zendaya and Jacob Batalon (Ned Leeds) are his "best friends." He told Access Hollywood, "We’re genuinely best friends. From the moment we met on the set of Spider-Man, we instantly bonded and became the best of friends."
In July of that year, Zendaya and Holland were seen sharing a kiss in their car. Their engagement was confirmed in January 2025, yet neither have publicly addressed the wedding rumors. 'The Drama' is slated for release in theaters on April 3, 2026.
