Gandhinagar, Dec 26 (NationPress) The Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) is poised to launch a new, specialized Medical Device Park in Nagalpar, Rajkot. This project is designed to foster a complete ecosystem for the medical device sector, enhancing manufacturing, research, and international exports.
Launch of the New Medical Device Park
The GIDC's initiative at Nagalpar will cover an area of 336 acres. It is engineered to serve as a holistic ecosystem, enabling product development from initial research phases to testing, manufacturing, and global distribution.
Strategic Location and Connectivity
Nagalpar boasts exceptional logistics and connectivity. Its location is strategically close to major ports such as Pipavav (125 km), Kandla (198 km), and Mundra (243 km). Rajkot Airport provides access to significant Indian cities, including Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru, thus facilitating both domestic and international travel. The park is located just 9 km from NH27, a vital national highway that links numerous cities across India, including Ahmedabad, Jaipur, and Delhi.
Ready-to-Use Utilities
The park will feature comprehensive, plug-and-play infrastructure tailored to meet the demands of manufacturers. These facilities will include a dependable water supply system with a proposed capacity of 3.5 million liters per day (MLD).
Additionally, provisions for dedicated Solid Waste Management and a Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) will be implemented to ensure sustainable practices. Land has also been earmarked for a proposed 66 KV substation to guarantee an uninterrupted power supply. Furthermore, a Common Warehouse and Logistics Centre is planned to enhance logistics efficiency.
The establishment of the Nagalpar Medical Device Park reaffirms Gujarat’s commitment to solidifying its position as a leader in India’s rapidly expanding medical device manufacturing sector.
The upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC) in Rajkot will serve as a vibrant platform to leverage the substantial investment potential presented by the new Medical Device Park at Nagalpar.
As Gujarat becomes a hub for orthopedic and surgical device manufacturing, Rajkot will host this conference to specifically showcase the strengths of the Kutch and Saurashtra regions in sectors such as Engineering, Ports & Logistics, and Agro & Food Processing.
