Haryana Chief Minister Highlights Testing in New TB Case Discoveries

Chandigarh, Dec 7 (NationPress) Haryana's Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced on Saturday that the state government is focusing on the 4Ts—which stand for test, track, treat, and technology—to eradicate TB.

He noted that enhanced testing over the past decade has resulted in the discovery of new TB cases, with treatments being offered at no cost.

During the launch of the nationwide 100-Day TB elimination campaign, the Chief Minister encouraged citizens to submit data regarding every new TB case to the Ni-kshay portal, which also offers timely information to TB patients.

He mentioned that the state government collaborates with NGOs and the civil society sector to strengthen its TB elimination initiatives.

The Chief Minister expressed appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Health and Family Welfare Minister J.P. Nadda, who attended the event, for selecting Haryana to initiate the intensified 100-day TB campaign.

He assured that Haryana would endeavor to play a significant role in the nationwide fight against TB.

Under the guidance of Prime Minister Modi, India has adopted a new mindset and approach towards tackling TB since 2014, which is unprecedented.

Over the last decade, India has battled TB through successful campaigns such as Jan Bhagidari, Nikshay Poshan Yojana, Fit India, and Khelo India, which have gained international acclaim. He stated that the launch of the 100-day National Ni-kshay Camp for TB eradication marks a crucial milestone in these efforts.

The Chief Minister also mentioned that the state government is leveraging advanced technology to combat TB. All current X-ray centers are being linked with the Indian Plasma Research Institute in Ahmedabad through AI to facilitate TB elimination. Haryana is the second state in the nation to adopt this technology. Additionally, two modern Micro Bacterial Culture and DST Labs have been established in Rohtak and Karnal.

Moreover, a new lab is being constructed in Ambala, according to Saini. He also noted that 59 mobile health vans are conducting TB tests in villages, slums, and among daily wage workers, brick kiln laborers, and farmers.
