Fatehabad, Dec 13 (NationPress) Haryana’s Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini stated on Saturday that the ‘Sansad Khel Mahotsav’ transcends conventional sporting events, representing a holistic health initiative that inspires the youth to embrace a more active and disciplined lifestyle.
The initiative enhances the Khelo India and Fit India programs at the grassroots level, evolving into a significant movement that aims to cultivate a healthy, self-sufficient, and disciplined future generation.
In alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of transforming sports into a widespread movement, the ‘Sansad Khel Mahotsav’ has emerged as a powerful platform for uncovering hidden athletic talent in rural regions, enabling young sportspeople to excel on national and international stages.
During the closing ceremony of the ‘Sansad Khel Mahotsav’, the Chief Minister was warmly received by Rajya Sabha MP and event organizer Subhash Barala. Athletes participating in the finals also engaged in a ceremonial march past.
The Chief Minister officially inaugurated the final matches, including a thrilling kabaddi final between teams from Sirsa and Fatehabad, where he interacted with players and offered them encouragement.
A remarkable total of 45,000 athletes from nine Assembly segments of the Sirsa Lok Sabha constituency registered for the ‘Sansad Khel Mahotsav’, with 3,604 qualifying for finals across various disciplines.
Addressing the athletes and attendees, CM Saini noted that the ‘Sansad Khel Mahotsav’ has positioned the Sirsa Lok Sabha constituency among the top 10 parliamentary constituencies nationwide in terms of sports participation.
He emphasized that many talents remain undiscovered due to a lack of opportunities, and it was with this insight that Prime Minister Narendra Modi directed the organization of the ‘Sansad Khel Mahotsav’.
Such initiatives, he stated, not only fuel interest in sports but also motivate the youth to compete at state, national, and international levels.
The Chief Minister recalled that 11 years ago, Haryana established a clear sports vision aimed at connecting every child with sports, creating playgrounds in every village, and providing opportunities to every enthusiastic youth.
The aim, he asserted, is to make Haryana not only India’s but the world’s foremost sports capital. He expressed confidence that Haryana’s athletes would bring home the maximum number of medals during the 2036 Olympics, aligning with the Prime Minister’s goal of establishing India as a global sports powerhouse.
He highlighted that participation in sports is a significant achievement in itself and that qualities such as effort, discipline, and dedication are far more crucial than merely winning or losing. These values, he believes, play a vital role in shaping the youth into responsible citizens and successful athletes.
