Bhusawal, Dec 23 (NationPress) The Sansad Khel Mahotsav 2025 has been launched as a significant initiative to bolster grassroots sporting talent within the Raver Lok Sabha constituency. This vibrant event commenced with immense enthusiasm and splendor at the Central Railway Ground in Bhusawal, Maharashtra, on Tuesday.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, Raksha Nikhil Khadse, who ignited the ceremonial torch, symbolizing the commencement of this remarkable sports festival.

This inaugural event set an exceptional standard for energy, discipline, and sporting enthusiasm. A colorful march-past featuring participating athletes, impressive Mallakhamb displays, and lively performances of traditional Dhangari folk dance enthralled thousands of attendees.

Speaking to the aspiring athletes, Raksha Khadse stated, “This Mahotsav transcends mere competition; it is a vital foundation for the future of sports in India. Our primary goal is to offer talented youth from rural backgrounds a significant platform. I strongly believe that the boys and girls stepping onto this field today will one day bring honor to our nation. Such initiatives are crucial for fostering a robust sports culture and developing athletes capable of representing India on a global scale.”

The inauguration was attended by distinguished guests, including prominent leader and MLA from Malkapur Chensukh Sanchiti, MLA from Raver Amol Jawale, and the recently elected Chairman of Shendurjni Municipal Council Govind Seth Agrawal. District Sports Officers Ravindra Naik from Jalgaon and Laxmishankar Yadav from Buldhana, along with notable coaches, officials, and sports administrators, were also present.

The event attracted over 6,500 athletes from 10 talukas within the Raver Lok Sabha constituency, including Yawal, Bodwad, Jamner, Bhusawal, Chopda, Muktainagar, Malkapur, Nandura, and Raver. Young athletes aged under-17 and under-19 will compete in various sports disciplines such as Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Football, Boxing, Badminton, and Athletics (Running, Shot Put, and Javelin Throw) from December 23 to 25.

More than just a series of competitions, the Sansad Khel Mahotsav represents a movement aimed at instilling values of discipline, teamwork, and leadership among the youth. It is recognized as the largest sports event ever held in the history of the Raver Lok Sabha constituency, underscoring a strong commitment to nurturing sporting excellence at the grassroots level.
