New Delhi, March 15 (NationPress) The inaugural Fit India Carnival, a three-day festival dedicated to fitness and wellness, will be officially opened by Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Mansukh Mandaviya on Sunday at the JLN Stadium in New Delhi, as confirmed by an official statement.

The event will also showcase the official mascot, logo, and anthem for the upcoming Khelo India Para Games, taking place from March 20 to 27 in the national capital.

A range of sports activities, including rope skipping, stationary cycling, arm wrestling, cricket bowling, as well as squat and push-up challenges, will be featured prominently throughout the three days of the Fit India Carnival.

Joining the inauguration will be Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana, wrestler and fitness advocate Sangram Singh, and wellness expert Mickey Mehta, according to an official release.

The event will also be attended by Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Raksha Khadse and several distinguished guests.

The Fit India Carnival, concluding on March 18, seeks to encourage a healthy and active lifestyle, resonating with the vision of the Fit India Movement for a fitter, healthier, and obesity-free nation.

Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in fun fitness challenges and interactive sessions, as stated.

Healthcare professionals, including doctors, nutritionists, and psychologists from the Sports Authority of India National Centre of Sports Sciences and Research (NCSSR), will also be present to offer complimentary assessments to attendees.

Exciting performances, featuring Kalaripayattu, Mallakhamb, and Gatka, along with cultural acts themed around 'Fitness through Dance', live DJ music, and band performances, will take place throughout the event.

Last month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi invited ten notable figures to join the national initiative against obesity and promote healthy eating awareness, in line with his Fit India campaign.

The nominees included Omar Abdullah, Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, businessman Anand Mahindra, actor-politician Dinesh Lal Yadav (Nirahua), Olympic medalists Manu Bhaker and Mirabai Chanu, actors Mohanlal and R. Madhavan, singer Shreya Ghoshal, Rajya Sabha member and philanthropist Sudha Murthy, and Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani.

PM Modi encouraged these individuals to further nominate ten more people each, to broaden the movement's reach and effectiveness.
