Jaipur, April 7 (NationPress) The government of Rajasthan is responding urgently to the alarming reports of child fatalities attributed to an unknown illness in the Salumber district. A comprehensive disease control and surveillance initiative has been initiated across all seven districts within the Udaipur division.

According to Principal Secretary (Medical and Health) Gayatri Rathore, a total of 3,690 teams have conducted thorough surveys, visiting over 52,000 households across the division.
As part of this effort, 275 individuals exhibiting symptoms were identified, with 25 being referred for advanced medical care at specialized facilities.
A series of awareness campaigns under the Information, Education, and Communication initiatives were also executed at more than 13,000 locations.
Public Health Director Dr. Ravi Prakash Sharma confirmed the tragic death of a four-year-old child in Semari village, located in Salumber district.
On Tuesday, 651 patients received immediate treatment across the division, while preventative actions included anti-larval measures implemented at 2,557 locations to combat mosquito-borne diseases.
Moreover, 1,796 blood slides were prepared and 94 samples were collected for diagnostic analysis. The Health Department has heightened surveillance efforts and encouraged residents to promptly report any symptoms to the nearest health facility.
Authorities have also urged the public to adhere strictly to health advisories and preventive measures.
