Australia Provides Humanitarian Aid to the Philippines After Severe Tropical Storms

Canberra, Nov 30 (NationPress) The Australian government has declared humanitarian support to aid the Philippines in its recovery from a series of catastrophic tropical storms.
Foreign Affairs Minister Penny Wong and Minister for International Development and the Pacific Pat Conroy announced on Saturday a commitment of five million Australian dollars (approximately $3.2 million) in funding for humanitarian relief in the Philippines, as reported by the Xinhua news agency.
The Philippines experienced six tropical storms within a month, from October to November, resulting in the loss of hundreds of lives and extensive displacement and destruction.
Australia's aid will be provided through humanitarian partners, including the United Nations, non-governmental organizations, and local groups.
Wong and Conroy emphasized that the government’s partners will collaborate with local authorities to assist those most affected by providing shelter, ensuring food security, delivering health services, and improving water sanitation and hygiene.
