Quetta, Aug 15 (NationPress) Prominent Baloch human rights advocate Mir Yar Baloch expressed his approval of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's remarks about the investigation into India's critical minerals under the National Critical Minerals Mission (NCMM). This was part of his address to the nation from the Red Fort during the celebration of the country’s 79th Independence Day.
On this occasion, PM Modi declared that the nation is ramping up its efforts to attain self-reliance in critical minerals, with exploration currently in progress at over 1,200 locations nationwide.
Mir emphasized that by rendering Pakistan less significant, Balochistan and India can forge long-lasting partnerships in economy, defense, security, and peace.
“The people of Balochistan see the potential in leveraging India's advanced technology and expertise to explore the vast resources of critical minerals worth trillions of dollars in Balochistan. This could significantly enhance the defense capabilities of both India and Balochistan. India has the potential to be a steadfast partner for Balochistan in defense and economic matters,” the human rights defender shared on X.
“Balochistan's land and waters are rich in critical minerals, and discovering these resources won’t require substantial investment; it’s simply a matter of initiating the extraction process. This endeavor could be completed within five to ten years, thereby transforming the future of this region if we commence today,” he added in his post.
On behalf of the sixty million Baloch people, Mir conveyed warm wishes to the 1.4 billion people of India as they celebrated Independence Day.
“We share in your joy as if it were our own, because your triumph over colonialism inspires our own quest for freedom,” stated the human rights advocate.
Praising the brave and dignified people of India who resisted British oppression and sacrificed immensely, Mir reminded that the people of Balochistan also paid a heavy price to liberate themselves from imperialism.
He stressed that neither India nor Balochistan received freedom on a silver platter; it was fought for with the blood and toil of their ancestors. He noted that Baloch forefathers established an “independent Balochistan on August 11, 1947,” just days before India’s leaders heralded the dawn of a free India on August 15, after enduring the pain of partition.
“As India revels in its independence today, the people of Balochistan stand in solidarity with you. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to your patriotic mainstream and social media, both of your parliaments, courageous journalists, visionary thinkers, civil society, doctors, farmers, business community, armed forces, scientists, teachers, students, people of all faiths, and every Indian who has shared the message of Balochistan with homes across India,” he expressed, acknowledging the contributions of the Indian populace.
Mir urged the Government of India to support Balochistan in “real and meaningful ways” so that both can “thwart any conspiracy against the two nations” and confront Pakistan’s vile terrorism with the same resolve that India demonstrated during Operation Sindoor, a powerful response that still reverberates through the ranks of the Pakistani army and their terrorists.
