Islamabad, March 21 (NationPress) The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), an organization directed by the contentious Baloch rights advocate Mahrang Baloch, has drawn attention from Pakistani security forces after its demonstrators seized several corpses from the Civil Hospital in Balochistan’s provincial capital Quetta. These bodies are believed to belong to Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) militants involved in the recent attack on the Jaffar Express passenger train in Bolan.

During a protest outside the Civil Hospital in Quetta, relatives of missing individuals demanded permission to identify the deceased. Hospital officials reported that the protesters managed to breach the morgue and took away at least five corpses.

It remains uncertain whether the relatives had verified the identities of the bodies before their removal; however, local authorities confirmed that the bodies were indeed those of the attackers from the Jaffar Express incident and were affiliated with the banned BLA.

“The bodies taken were unidentified remains of terrorists who perished during the military operation following the attack on the Jaffar Express,” stated a provincial government representative.

This information was corroborated by BYC activists, who indicated that some demonstrators had successfully carried off multiple bodies from the hospital's morgue, asserting that families of the missing individuals had convened there to identify their relatives.

“We had been seeking access to the morgue for two days to reassure the families of the missing persons that the bodies stored were not of their loved ones,” expressed a BYC member.

Subsequently, police conducted raids in various areas of Quetta, recovering at least three corpses. Reports indicate that operations occurred on Sariab Road and Secretariat Chowk, with several individuals taken into custody.

Sources revealed that the activities of BYC and its leader Mahrang Baloch—who has faced accusations of collaborating with the BLA—are currently under investigation for exploiting the issue of missing persons in Balochistan to undermine the nation’s military establishment and governmental policies.
