Quetta, April 16 (NationPress) The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has asserted that it has eliminated 29 personnel of the Pakistani military through 14 distinct attacks carried out between April 3 and April 14 across various regions of Balochistan, as reported by local media on Thursday.
In an official statement, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch revealed that the group executed operations in Panjgur, Kharan, Surab, Washuk, Uthal, Mastung, and Jhal Magsi, focusing on military convoys, checkpoints, and supply routes, according to The Balochistan Post.
Baloch mentioned that the assaults involved ambush tactics, the use of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), as well as what he described as drone strikes. He noted that during certain operations, highways and checkpoints were brought under “full control” of the BLA, resulting in the detention and subsequent release of 13 Levies and police officers.
The BLA reported that among the most lethal attacks was an ambush in Surab on April 6, which resulted in the deaths of seven personnel, an IED strike on a convoy in Washuk killing eight, and coordinated strikes in Kharan on April 11, which claimed the lives of nine military personnel.
Additionally, the group stated that its aerial unit, named “QAHR,” conducted a drone strike in Mastung on April 9, which led to two casualties and injuries to two others in what was characterized as a targeted military camp assault.
The BLA claimed to have targeted supply vehicles in Panjgur, seized Levies checkposts in Jhal Magsi, and detained police officers in Kharan, taking their weapons before their release, as per the report.
In the statement, it was noted that three BLA fighters lost their lives during confrontations in Surab on April 6.
The BLA emphasized that these recent operations indicate a “decisive phase” in their ongoing conflict for the “defense of the Baloch motherland.”
The group urged Pakistani forces to withdraw from what it described as a “colonial war” and to return to their homes in Punjab, rather than continuing what they termed an “unnatural and forced occupation.”
Previously, on March 29, the BLA claimed responsibility for 14 attacks across various districts of Balochistan between March 19 and March 28, stating that these operations resulted in the deaths of 18 personnel from the occupying Pakistani army, with several others injured.
According to spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch, these 14 diverse operations were executed in the Washuk, Kharan, Kalat, Mastung, Surab, Khuzdar, Quetta, Turbat, and Barkhan regions of the province, as reported by The Balochistan Post.
Baloch elaborated that BLA fighters targeted military camps, convoys, and checkpoints, successfully taking control of various checkpoints, detaining personnel, and confiscating weapons and military gear.
The spokesperson also mentioned that two BLA fighters were killed during these operations in what were described as “direct confrontations with the occupying forces.”
