Bombardment at Fuel Station in Sudan's Capital Claims 28 Lives and Leaves 37 Injured

Khartoum, Dec 9 (NationPress) A tragic incident occurred where a minimum of 28 individuals lost their lives and 37 others sustained injuries due to a bombardment that struck a fuel station located to the south of Sudan's capital, Khartoum, as reported by a local volunteer group and various media sources.
The ammonia fuel station, situated in the New Market 6 area of the Mayo neighborhood, north of Bashair Hospital, was bombed, leading to considerable human and material losses, according to a statement from the South Khartoum Emergency Room, a local volunteer organization, issued on Sunday.
The reported injuries included 29 cases of burns, with three classified as first-degree burns, alongside eight instances of shrapnel wounds, as detailed by the Xinhua news agency.
The volunteer group indicated that medical teams are actively working to address the aftermath of the incident, urgently requesting additional medical support for those injured.
The Sudanese news portal Al-Rakoba corroborated on Sunday that 28 people were killed and 37 others injured in the attack on the ammonia fuel station.
As of now, no entity has claimed responsibility for this assault.
Since mid-April 2023, Sudan has been embroiled in a catastrophic conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces.
This brutal conflict has resulted in over 27,120 fatalities and displaced more than 14 million individuals, both internally and externally, according to estimates from international organizations.
