New Delhi, July 7 (NationPress) Following the condemnation of the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam that resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals, NCP-SCP MLA Rohit Rajendra Pawar expressed his support for the resolution, labeling it a crime against humanity. He stressed the global obligation to combat terrorism in all its manifestations.
“This is undeniably a crime against humanity. When any individual, regardless of nationality, falls victim to terrorism or similar acts, it signifies an assault on humanity itself. No form of terrorism can be justified. The recent attack in India was indeed an attack on humanity,” stated Rohit Pawar.
This assault, executed by the Pakistan-backed terrorist organization The Resistance Front (TRF), has drawn strong rebuke from political figures, including those attending the BRICS summit in Rio de Janeiro, where they reaffirmed their collective stance against terrorism.
Conversely, Congress leader Manoj Kumar expressed dissatisfaction with the management of the situation during India's military actions against terrorism and raised concerns about outside interference in negotiations with Pakistan.
“The entire globe condemned this act. Yet, I must ask: as our Army moved forward decisively to eliminate these terrorists, why was there a halt?” he questioned.
“Who issued the order to stop? What prompted Trump to tweet and pressure the operation to pause? And how can it be more disgraceful than seeing Pakistan — the hub of terrorism, presiding over the UN Security Council? This is not how a sovereign nation should conduct itself. It seems like Trump is leading the country, not our Prime Minister. The Pahalgam attack was horrifying, and the world will not forget those accountable.”
The Rio de Janeiro Declaration, adopted by BRICS leaders, categorically condemned the Pahalgam terror attack, reiterating their dedication to counteracting cross-border terrorism, its financing, and safe havens.
“We unequivocally condemn the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir on April 22, 2025... We reaffirm our commitment to addressing terrorism in all its forms, including the cross-border movement of terrorists, terrorism financing, and safe havens,” stated Paragraph 34 of the declaration.
BRICS leaders underscored that terrorism should not be associated with any religion, ethnicity, or nationality, and called for all perpetrators and their backers to be held accountable under international law.
