Canadian Hindus Rally in Toronto, Seeking Justice for Persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh

Toronto, Dec 11 (NationPress) A significant rally took place on Wednesday in Toronto, as members of the Canadian Hindu community assembled outside the Bangladeshi Consulate to protest the ongoing persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh.
The event, organized by Canadian Hindu Volunteers, united individuals from various backgrounds in their demand for global intervention against what they described as a 'systematic campaign of genocide' aimed at the Hindu minority in Bangladesh.
Protesters held the current Bangladeshi government, led by the contentious Islamist figure Muhammad Yunus, accountable for the widespread violence and discrimination faced by Hindus.
Participants brought attention to the desecration and destruction of ancient Hindu temples, along with the brutal murders of priests and unjust imprisonments of community leaders. They claimed that Hindu professionals are being systematically removed from their positions, their families facing looting, and women enduring unimaginable sexual violence—all part of a calculated effort to erase Hindu culture, faith, and identity from Bangladesh.
The social media platform X of Canadian Hindu Volunteers conveyed that the silence from the international community is profound, stating, 'This is not just a crisis, it is an organized and deliberate assault on human rights and religious freedom. The global community must act now before it is too late.'
Organizers underscored the urgent need for action, urging Canadians to pressure their elected officials to address this issue in Parliament and to advocate for diplomatic actions against the Bangladeshi regime. They called on Canada to lead by example, implementing sanctions and utilizing its global influence to hold the perpetrators accountable.
The demonstrators also made an emotional appeal for justice, emphasizing that silence is equivalent to complicity. 'This isn’t just about Bangladesh’s Hindu community, it’s about defending the principles of human dignity and freedom worldwide,' stated a post on the Canadian Hindu Volunteers page on X.
'We, as Canadian Hindus, urge the international community to act decisively. Silence is complicity, and inaction only empowers the perpetrators of these crimes. We encourage all Canadians to support this cause by writing to their elected officials, urging them to raise this issue in Parliament and demand action. Canada must take a stand by holding the Bangladeshi regime accountable through diplomatic pressure and sanctions,' posted Canadian Hindu Volunteers on X.
