Large Demonstration in Karnataka Against Violence Targeting Hindus in Bangladesh

Bengaluru, Dec 4 (NationPress) In light of the ongoing turmoil and alarming reports of atrocities against minorities in Bangladesh, a significant number of Hindu organizations united under the banner of 'Hindu Hitarakshana Vedike' to conduct a substantial protest in Bengaluru, Karnataka on Wednesday.

This demonstration highlighted the rising violence and discrimination experienced by Hindus and other minority groups, including Christians and Buddhists, in Bangladesh, with participants calling for global intervention and more vigorous action from the Indian government.

Notably, there have been over 2,000 recorded incidents of violence against Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh, with at least nine members of these communities reported as having lost their lives.

The protest intensified amid rising tensions concerning the detention of Hindu monk Chinmoy Krishna Das in Bangladesh. The former ISKCON leader’s bail hearing was delayed due to the lack of legal representation, further inciting anger among the Hindu community.

One participant stressed the importance of unity, stating, “We must awaken, we must come together; everyone needs to stand united. This government belongs to us, and we are in support of the Indian government. It is our responsibility to guide not just Bangladesh but the entire world.”

Another protestor, Seerisha, voiced her deep concern regarding the situation of Hindus in Bangladesh, saying, “India assisted Bangladesh for peace, yet now Hindus are falling prey to Islamic terrorism. The global community must rally to support Hindus, not only in Bangladesh but everywhere.”

Ravi, another demonstrator, criticized the Bangladesh government’s approach to the crisis, expressing sorrow that it appears to endorse barbaric acts against Hindus. He stated, “I am disheartened that the Bangladesh government is permitting atrocities against Hindus. Since the new government assumed power, conditions have deteriorated. I call upon the Indian government to take appropriate measures to safeguard Hindus.”

Ramesh, a protestor from West Bengal, reminisced about the sacrifices made during Bangladesh’s liberation from Pakistan, saying, “I witnessed the liberation of Bangladesh. Our soldiers sacrificed their lives for that nation, and now Hindus are being oppressed. This is unacceptable.”

Karunakar, another participant, condemned the violations of human rights, labeling them as a massacre of minorities. He demanded more decisive action from the Indian government, underscoring, “The situation in Bangladesh is intolerable, and we insist on tougher measures against these atrocities.”
