Prayers Across 1,100 Temples for Hindu Minorities in Bangladesh; ISKCON Ban Rejection by HC Sparks New Optimism

New Delhi, Dec 1 (NationPress) ISKCON Governing Body Commissioner and spiritual leader Gauranga Das stated that prayers were conducted in over 1,100 temples of the organization on Sunday for the welfare of Hindu minorities in the troubled region of Bangladesh.

In a conversation with IANS, Das, who oversees the International Society for Krishna's Consciousness' Human Resource and Capacity Building, revealed that approximately 3,000 individuals gathered in Mumbai on Sunday to pray to Radha Krishna and Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, imploring for the protection of Hindu minorities in Bangladesh and the restoration of peace in the South Asian nation.

The spiritual leader also urged ISKCON’s 120 centers and followers not to circulate any social media posts that could exacerbate the volatile situation in the neighboring country.

“The Indian government, Bangladesh government, and various international organizations are currently engaged in discussions to resolve the issue,” the spiritual leader noted.

Referencing Lord Krishna's teachings in the Gita - “Kaam, krodh, Moh, nark ke dwar hain” (Lust, anger, and greed lead to hell), he called on the Bangladeshi government to safeguard and respect minorities to maintain diversity and global harmony.

He invited people to propose solutions to the issue and submit their suggestions to the President of their temples or the communications ministry of ISKCON.

Furthermore, he mentioned that leaders from the ISKCON Communication Ministry were in contact with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, who have assured that efforts are underway to find an amicable resolution to the hostilities faced by minorities in Bangladesh.

“Political issues often require time to resolve. We are exercising patience. The plea to ban ISKCON in the Bangladesh High Court has been dismissed, indicating a positive movement forward,” he expressed.

“We study the Gita and Sanatan Dharma, which teaches that while one may feel helpless, they should never lose hope,” he shared, expressing hope for global peace.

Regarding the growth of Sanatan Dharma, he affirmed that ISKCON devotees and leaders are always ready to contribute to this cause.
