New Delhi, Jan 12 (NationPress) Chancellor Friedrich Merz of Germany has touched down in Gujarat on Monday for an official visit to India, following an invitation extended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
This marks Merz's inaugural official visit to India, with a focus on bolstering bilateral relations between India and Germany.
Upon arrival, the German Chancellor received a warm welcome from Gujarat’s Governor, Acharya Devvrat, at Ahmedabad Airport.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) shared on the social media platform X, highlighting, “India and Germany are celebrating 75 years of diplomatic relations and 25 years of the Strategic Partnership. Chancellor Merz's visit, along with his meeting with PM Modi later today, is anticipated to further reinforce India-Germany ties.
