In a message shared on X, the Dubai Government Media Office stated: "Authorities confirmed that debris from drones intercepted by air defense systems fell into the courtyards of two homes in Dubai, leading to the injuries of two individuals. Medical care has been provided. The noises heard throughout the emirate were attributed to successful interception operations."
Earlier that day, the UAE's Ministry of Defence disclosed that the Air Force and Air Defence Forces had effectively intercepted and neutralized 137 ballistic missiles and 209 drones directed at the nation's territory since the onset of Iranian aggression.
"The Ministry clarified that since the beginning of the attacks, 137 Iranian ballistic missiles were detected, with 132 being intercepted and destroyed, while five landed in the sea. Furthermore, 209 Iranian drones were identified, 195 of which were intercepted, while 14 crashed within the country's boundaries, causing some collateral damage," it revealed.
"As a result of the effective interception of missiles and drones, debris fell in various locations across the nation, resulting in minor material damage to several civilian properties. The Ministry confirmed that relevant authorities acted promptly with full preparedness to manage the situation, adhering to established protocols, and took necessary measures to ensure the safety of residents and secure affected areas," it added.
The UAE's Ministry of Defence condemned the attacks, expressing the nation's rejection of such acts, which demonstrate a dangerous escalation and cowardly behavior that jeopardizes public safety and disrupts stability. It emphasized that these actions represent a blatant violation of national sovereignty and international law. The Ministry urged individuals to rely on official UAE sources for information and to refrain from spreading rumors or unverified claims.
"The Ministry underscored that this aggression constitutes a blatant infringement of national sovereignty and international law, asserting that the country reserves the right to respond to this escalation and take all necessary actions to protect its territory and citizens in a manner that preserves its sovereignty, security, and stability, alongside safeguarding its interests and national capabilities," it stated.
The Ministry reiterated its heightened alert status, prepared to address any threats, and committed to taking all necessary actions to firmly counter any attempts to disrupt the UAE's security and stability, emphasizing that the safety of citizens, residents, and visitors is a top priority that cannot be compromised.
