Abu Dhabi, March 11 (NationPress) Four individuals, including two Ghanaians, one Bangladeshi, and one Indian, sustained injuries when two drones descended in the vicinity of Dubai International Airport on Wednesday.
According to a statement from the Government of Dubai Media Office posted on X, "Authorities have confirmed that two drones landed near Dubai International Airport (DXB) recently, resulting in minor injuries to two Ghanaians and one Bangladeshi, while one Indian national sustained moderate injuries. Air traffic continues to operate normally."
Earlier in the day, the UAE's Ministry of Defence reported that their air defenses were actively responding to missile threats and incoming drones from Iran, urging the public to heed safety and security guidelines issued by officials.
"The UAE's air defenses are engaged in countering missile and drone assaults from Iran. The Ministry of Defence clarified that the sounds reported were due to the Air Defence Systems intercepting such threats. Citizens are advised to follow the safety protocols provided," stated the UAE's Ministry of Defence on X.
These missile attacks from Iran are viewed as retaliation against ongoing joint US-Israel operations that commenced on February 28.

The ministry also disclosed, "We have identified 1,475 Iranian UAVs, of which 1,385 were intercepted, and 90 fell within the country. Furthermore, eight cruise missiles were also detected and neutralized."
These incidents have tragically resulted in six fatalities among Emirati, Pakistani, Nepalese, and Bangladeshi nationals, with 122 individuals suffering from moderate to minor injuries.
