"The incident, caused by debris from an interception that fell on residential properties, resulted in minor injuries to two Indian nationals, one Bangladeshi national, and one Sri Lankan national. Earlier in the day, authorities stated they were addressing an incident linked to debris from a successful interception that affected homes in southern Dubai, leading to property damage and minor injuries among four Asian nationals.
This incident unfolds against the backdrop of ongoing tension in West Asia, which escalated following strikes by Israel and the US against Iran on February 28, resulting in the death of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and key military figures. In retaliation, Iran has initiated drone and missile strikes targeting US and Israeli installations, as well as regional capitals and allied forces in the area.
Meanwhile, the UAE Ministry of Defence reported engagement of eight ballistic missiles, four cruise missiles, and 36 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launched from Iran on Tuesday. Since the commencement of Iranian assaults, UAE air defenses have intercepted a total of 433 ballistic missiles, 19 cruise missiles, and 1,977 UAVs, according to the Ministry's statement on X.
"These attacks led to the martyrdom of two armed forces members during their national service, along with the death of a Moroccan civilian contracted by the Armed Forces, plus eight fatalities involving nationals from Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Palestine, and India," the Ministry stated on X.
Furthermore, a total of 188 individuals sustained injuries, varying from minor to moderate and severe, encompassing nationals from several countries including the UAE, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Iran, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and others.
The UAE Ministry of Defence reiterated its preparedness to counter any threats, vowing to firmly address anything that jeopardizes the nation's security, ensuring the protection of its sovereignty, stability, and national interests.
