Abu Dhabi, April 3 (NationPress) On Friday, a total of 12 individuals, including five Indian citizens, were reported injured due to debris from a missile that fell after a successful interception by the UAE's air defense systems in the Ajban region of Abu Dhabi.

"As part of the ongoing investigation into the previously reported incident in the Ajban area caused by the falling debris after a successful interception, authorities have confirmed that this event has resulted in minor to moderate injuries for six individuals from Nepal and five from India, alongside one serious injury involving a Nepali national. The public is advised to seek information only from reliable sources and refrain from disseminating rumors or unverified details," the Abu Dhabi Media Office stated on X.

Earlier in the day, the office reported that officials responded to an incident involving falling debris in the Ajban area following a successful interception by air defense systems.

Simultaneously, the UAE's Ministry of Defense disclosed that its air defense system engaged 18 ballistic missiles, four cruise missiles, and 47 Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) launched from Iran on the same day.

According to the announcement, the UAE's air defenses have intercepted 475 ballistic missiles, 23 cruise missiles, and 2085 UAVs since the onset of Iranian hostilities.

"These attacks have led to the martyrdom of two armed forces personnel while they were fulfilling their national responsibilities, in addition to the death of a Moroccan civilian who was contracted by the Armed Forces, alongside casualties involving nine individuals from various nationalities including Pakistani, Nepali, Bangladeshi, Palestinian, and Indian backgrounds," the statement continued.

"In total, 203 people have sustained injuries, ranging from minor to severe. The injured parties included nationals from the UAE, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Iran, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Uganda, Eritrea, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Comoros, Türkiye, Iraq, Nepal, Nigeria, Oman, Jordan, Palestine, Ghana, Indonesia, Sweden, and Tunisia," the statement read.

The UAE's Ministry of Defense reaffirmed its readiness to address any threats and pledged to counter any actions that jeopardize the security of the UAE, ensuring the protection of its sovereignty, security, and stability while safeguarding its interests and national capabilities.
