New Delhi, Jan 20 (NationPress) The ISI has strategically turned Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) into a base for operatives of the Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP) and Lashkar-e-Taiba.

The ISI has united these two groups to combat the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which is active in the region. The directive is for them to first target the TTP and subsequently confront the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), all under a single command.

The ISI has appointed Hafiz Zubair Muwahid as the commander of this joint operation. Muwahid is considered an ISI asset and is highly trusted within the Pakistani establishment, maintaining close ties with both organizations.

According to intelligence agencies, Muwahid is the ISI's key figure for operations in KP and Balochistan. An official highlighted that his selection stems from his extensive knowledge of the two regions and his network of informants cultivated over the years.

This knowledge will be crucial for ISKP and Lashkar-e-Taiba as they prepare to engage in their offensive against the TTP and BLA, the official noted.

Reports from the area indicate that a significant military offensive is imminent. The operatives of Lashkar-e-Taiba and ISKP are gearing up to launch a comprehensive assault on the TTP, with the Pakistan Army expected to provide support.

In the past weeks, the army has been urging residents to evacuate the area to facilitate the upcoming operation. The command center for both groups is situated in Tirah, and locals have been instructed to leave urgently, with assurances that their displacement is temporary.

Despite official assurances, the reality on the ground is grim. Residents of Tirah are anxious and uncertain about when they can return. No provisions for their accommodation or sustenance have been arranged by the Pakistan authorities.

Reports gathered by Indian intelligence indicate a mass exodus, with people leaving their homes under duress, expressing dissatisfaction over the lack of support.

Approximately 20,000 individuals have reportedly been displaced due to the Pakistan Army's orders. While the KP administration has announced a compensation plan, many are skeptical about its implementation.

One poignant testimony emerged from a woman who succumbed to starvation, underscoring the dire circumstances.

Security analysts predict chaos in the region, foreseeing further displacements as the TTP is expected to retaliate vigorously, suggesting a prolonged conflict.

Muwahid has instructed his forces to aggressively target the TTP, cautioning locals against any support for the TTP, warning them of severe repercussions.

Indian intelligence is closely monitoring the situation. While there is currently no indication that this conflict will spill over into India, officials remain vigilant regarding ISKP operatives potentially seeking to infiltrate Jammu and Kashmir.
