New Delhi, Feb 18 (NationPress) The former Prime Minister of Bangladesh has accused the interim government led by Mohammed Yunus of transforming the country into a center of terrorism and lawlessness. She pledges to return home, promising assistance to suffering families and vowing to deliver them justice.
She remarked that the Nobel laureate has publicly stated his lack of experience in governance; therefore, he should step back from leadership. She criticized him for his silence during last year’s riots, which resulted in the deaths of numerous police officers amid student protests against her quota reforms. She accused him of allowing chaos to prevail.
“Yunus has no governance experience. He disbanded all inquiry commissions and released terrorists to harm innocent people. They are dismantling Bangladesh. We will dismantle this terrorist regime. Inshallah,” Hasina stated.
While engaging with her Awami League supporters online from India, she declared, “I will come back. The murderers will be held accountable in Bangladesh. Their time will come on Bangladeshi soil. Perhaps that is why Allah has preserved my life.”
Following her ousting and retreat after the coup, Hasina has begun to reconnect with her party members and supporters through virtual addresses.
Despite efforts to silence her, the interim government and protesting student groups are resorting to extreme tactics. The interim administration has begun to compile reports for the Indian Government seeking her extradition, while student organizations have caused destruction to the memorial residence of Bangladesh's founding father, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, in Dhanmondi 32, Dhaka.
Last week, during a media briefing at the World Governments Summit in Dubai, Yunus asserted that he would ensure that key figures from the ousted Hasina regime face consequences, emphasizing that the Bangladeshi populace would not forgive his administration if justice is not served. “We will bring her (Hasina) to justice. This must happen; otherwise, the people will not forgive us,” Yunus stated.
“We have already begun the legal proceedings, and we anticipate a smooth process to bring her to justice. It is crucial that this occurs; otherwise, we will not receive forgiveness from the people,” Yunus was quoted as saying by the prominent Bangla daily, Prothom Alo.
