Sanaa, March 20 (NationPress) The Houthis from Yemen have asserted that they executed a missile strike on Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv utilizing a long-range ballistic missile early Thursday morning.
According to Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Sarea, "The missile force conducted a significant military operation targeting Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv. This operation utilized a hypersonic ballistic missile and successfully met its objective," as reported on Houthi-operated al-Masirah TV.
In addition, Sarea indicated that his faction initiated another assault on the USS Harry Truman aircraft carrier in the northern Red Sea, marking the fifth attempt since Saturday, employing a combination of ballistic and cruise missiles along with drones.
This latest attack on the US aircraft carrier was described as retaliation for the extensive airstrikes on civilian infrastructures in Sanaa and several northern regions following US President Donald Trump's announcement of renewed air operations against the Houthi group, aimed at curtailing their attacks on Israeli cities, ships, and US naval vessels in the Red Sea.
No remarks have been made by either Israel or the US, as reported by Xinhua news agency.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated that they successfully intercepted a missile launched by militants from Yemen, which activated sirens across central and southern Israel, including Tel Aviv, early Thursday.
The IDF confirmed that their Air Force neutralized the missile before it could enter Israeli territory and that the sirens were activated "in accordance with protocol."
Houthi forces in Yemen have resumed their offensive against Israel, following the end of a two-month ceasefire in Gaza, which resulted in over 400 fatalities due to air strikes on the enclave.
On Tuesday, the Houthi forces announced they had targeted a military installation in southern Israel with a ballistic missile, which was intercepted by the Israeli military prior to breaching the nation's borders.
