Earlier, on March 16, Ramu Abbagani met with the Permanent Secretary (Economy, Trade and Industry) of Brunei's Ministry of Finance and Economy, Hajah May Fa’ezah binti Haji Ahmad Ariffin, to discuss enhancing economic and trade cooperation.
In another post on X, the Indian High Commission highlighted, "The High Commissioner met with Dr. Hajah May Fa’ezah binti Haji Ahmad Ariffin, Permanent Secretary (Economy, Trade and Industry), to share insights on strengthening bilateral economic and trade relations."
On March 4, Ramu Abbagani also engaged with the Permanent Secretary of Culture, Pg Hj Mohd Hasnan Pg Hj Ali Hassan, exploring avenues to enhance cultural cooperation.
"The High Commissioner paid a courtesy visit to Permanent Secretary Pg Hj Mohd Hasnan Pg Hj Ali Hassan to discuss strategies for fostering cultural cooperation and deepening bilateral connections, anticipating initiatives that celebrate our shared values and rich traditions," the Indian High Commission in Brunei stated on X.

The robust partnership is grounded in mutual cultural ties and shared membership in international organizations like the United Nations (UN), Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), Commonwealth, and ASEAN, as indicated by the Indian High Commission in Brunei.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Brunei upon the invitation of Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah in September 2024, marking the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Brunei.
